The City of Victoria

Victoria is the capital of the English-speaking nation of Dunrowe. It is the largest city in the small country, a port city that sits on both the mainland of the continent Mnemosyne and an adjacent island, a strait being formed between the two shores. It is a bright city whose streets are lit with soft LED strips, or advertisements broadcasted on the side of walls with ultrathin, holographic screens. Much of Victoria maintains a traditional European unplanned winding pattern, though many of its districts are also open. Its commercial district, the Rainmerrow District, is a stacked, bright pavilion-like area, visible in the background of the site. Across the strait are the scattered townlike reaches of the city amongst coalmines constructed a century ago. In the far stretches into the mainland, where the city begins to end, farming settlements dapple the lush country hillside. It is a large, cozy, futuristic city with many layers.
